Our Services<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Maestro Accounting provides the following services:<\/p><ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\"><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Bookkeeping<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Limited company accounts and tax returns<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Personal tax returns<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">VAT registration and returns<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Property accounting<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Pensions setup and auto-enrolment<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Xero online accounting setup and support<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">The scope of work for each client will be confirmed in writing via a separate letter of engagement before any work begins. These terms and conditions apply alongside that engagement letter. Where there is a conflict between the two, the engagement letter will take precedence.<\/p><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">3. Engagement and Getting Started<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Our working relationship begins once you have returned a signed letter of engagement and any required identification documents. We are required by law to verify the identity of all clients before providing services. Work will not commence until these steps are completed.<\/p><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">4. Your Responsibilities<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">To allow us to carry out our work accurately and on time, you agree to:<\/p><ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\"><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Provide complete, accurate, and timely information when we request it<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Notify us promptly of any changes to your personal or business circumstances that may affect your tax or financial position<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Review all documents we prepare on your behalf before they are submitted to HMRC or Companies House<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Keep copies of all records and documents relevant to your tax affairs for a minimum of six years<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Inform us of any correspondence you receive from HMRC or Companies House that relates to work we are handling for you<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">We are not liable for errors, penalties, or missed deadlines that result from incomplete, inaccurate, or late information provided by you.<\/p><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">5. Our Responsibilities<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">We will:<\/p><ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\"><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Carry out all agreed work with reasonable care and skill<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Act in your best interests at all times within the bounds of the law<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Keep your information confidential in line with our Privacy Policy<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Notify you of any relevant deadlines and keep you informed of progress on your account<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Submit returns and filings to the relevant authorities accurately and on time, provided we have received all necessary information from you<\/li><\/ul><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">6. Fees and Payment<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Our fees will be agreed with you before any work begins and set out in your engagement letter. Unless otherwise stated:<\/p><ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\"><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Invoices are payable within 14 days of the date of issue<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue invoices at a rate of 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Additional work requested outside the original scope will be quoted separately and agreed in writing before proceeding<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">We reserve the right to pause or cease work on your account if invoices remain unpaid beyond 30 days<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">If you have any concerns about an invoice, please contact us within 7 days of receipt so we can resolve the matter promptly.<\/p><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">7. Deadlines and Filing<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">We will always aim to file your returns well in advance of statutory deadlines. However, we can only do this if you provide us with the required information in good time. Where information is provided late, we will do our best to meet the deadline but cannot guarantee this.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Maestro Accounting accepts no responsibility for penalties, surcharges, or interest charges imposed by HMRC or Companies House where these arise from information being provided to us late or from circumstances outside our control.<\/p><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">8. Confidentiality<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">All information you share with us is treated as strictly confidential. We will not disclose your information to any third party without your consent, except where we are legally required to do so, for example by HMRC, a court order, or under anti-money laundering legislation.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Our team members are bound by confidentiality obligations as a condition of their engagement with us.<\/p><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">9. Anti-Money Laundering<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">As a regulated accounting firm, we are required to comply with the UK Money Laundering Regulations. This means we must verify the identity of all clients, maintain records of that verification, and report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities. We may be legally prohibited from informing you if such a report has been made.<\/p><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">10. Intellectual Property<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">All templates, processes, methodologies, and materials created or used by Maestro Accounting remain our intellectual property unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing. You are granted a licence to use any work product we produce for you solely for the purposes for which it was intended.<\/p><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">11. Limitation of Liability<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Our liability to you in connection with any services provided is limited to the fees paid by you for those specific services in the 12 months preceding the claim.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">We are not liable for:<\/p><ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\"><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Any indirect or consequential loss<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Loss of profit, revenue, or business opportunity<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Losses arising from your failure to provide accurate or timely information<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Losses arising from decisions made by you based on our advice where the full facts were not disclosed to us<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence.<\/p><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">12. Termination<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Either party may terminate the engagement by giving 30 days written notice to the other. On termination:<\/p><ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\"><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">All outstanding fees become immediately payable<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">We will provide you with all documents and information belonging to you in a timely manner<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">We will not be responsible for any filings or deadlines that fall due after the termination date<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">We reserve the right to terminate the engagement immediately and without notice if you provide false or misleading information, fail to cooperate with our anti-money laundering obligations, or act in a manner that is abusive or threatening toward our team.<\/p><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">13. Complaints<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">We take all complaints seriously and are committed to resolving them quickly and fairly. If you remain dissatisfied after our response, you may be entitled to refer the matter to an independent body, details of which will be provided at that stage.<\/p><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">14. Governing Law<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.<\/p><hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/><h3 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">15. Changes to These Terms<\/h3><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website with an updated date. Continued use of our services after changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
